Character Overview

About
Anesidora is one of few Pandoras, half human demigods blessed by the Gods in exchange for shepherding the Divine World’s Miseries. Born in Greece until she was brought to the Divine World, Anesidora was in charge of the Death Misery, Merikh, who ran off after their comrade Pagule freed them. Working together with Eden and Ignacy, Anesidora wants to stop Merikh and Pagule because of the magnitude of trouble they pose to humans.

Personality
For the most part, she's a quiet and tranquil kid mature for her age, not looking to cause trouble or get into it. She's very patient as well so she doesn't mind doing tasks that take a lot of her day, or simply listening to others that she trusts already. She gets along well with other Pandoras because they're ultimately kids who don't get along as much with regular people. An area where she is immature is when she is quick to jump to conclusions. She thinks fast and doesn't wait to see how things turn out, immediately assuming an answer to everything. When talking with others, she is quick to conclude wrong things like if someone is rude based on a bad first impression, or reading the room completely wrong. She thinks it all but doesn't say anything at least. She's very picky with those around her, untrusting of many from the start. She claims that as the original Pandora's descendant, she has a high spiritual ability than the other pandoras, that she can read others' based on their spiritual energy. She could sense a bad energy from a good person who's going through a tough spot, or from an innocent who's just cursed by a god and mistake them as a bad person.

Character Lore

Backstory
The first Pandora in charge of the original box was one of Anesidora's ancestors, a woman who's curiousity cost many human lives when the Miseries within were unsealed in the mortal world. Anesidora grew up herself warned not to tamper with dangerous things, assigned in the Divine with Ignacy, who's station still had one Misery inside. Soon enough, the Misery inside was unsealed by a fellow God, the start of another long chase before they wreck havoc on the world. In Anesidora's earlier life, her lineage already decided what kind of life she would live. It was known she would be able to see the supernatural, that her job was to fulfill a role that her ancestor failed. She didn't really think too much about it and settled with it, always thinking it's fine to stick with something you're already decent at. She didn't know what a regular human's life was like to make any comparisons anyway. Still, she grew up alongside Eden who she considers a big sister, someone to rely on if she makes a mistake in the end. Since the original Pandora's box in her home had nothing inside anymore, she decided to join Ignacy as additional support as his temple had a sealed Misery in custody.

Knowing Ignacy since they were smaller, having trained together as far as sealing abilities, the two were like siblings as is. Living together was a pleasant experience for the two, sharing meals and stories together, but the underlying unease they'd feel from the box they watched was always there. From that box where the Misery of death was, Merikh, the two kids could sense a deep hatred, a terrible person was inside afterall. When Merikh's comrade Pagule dropped by to unseal them, the two Pandoras knew it was their responsibility to seal both of them before bad things happen. If you have no Misery to watch over, you can buffer another Pandora's station, or you could embark to track them down. The Pandora's could trace bad energies from humans afflicted by the Miseries, using that as a guide to see where they were, and if close their evil auras can be felt even a couple miles away. Anesidora was prepared for that, but since she was still pretty young, she decided it would be best to have Eden and Ignacy with her. With Eden around, they wouldn't be afflicted by the Misery's abilities.

Anesidora felt some people were brave because they had experience and knew the steps ahead of a task, but she barely had experience in the worst outcome of her job. When Eden enlisted help from Gingko, a human with absolutely no experience, Anesidora wasn't sure if it was a good idea. But given the human's resolve to see her wife more than anything, Anesidora saw that as her courage. She had no goals of her own after sealing the Miseries again, but if it made others lives easier, that's all she figured she needed to work for. As their group recovers a couple of Miseries over time, Anesidora starts to see the chemistry between both groups, as if they all share Merikh and Pagule as common enemies. Technically they don't need to be sealed again in the future, it's as if that goes against all she was raised for, but Anesidora simply watches how things play out. With her tracking abilities, she looks for the next Misery to keep out of the evil duo's hands.

Character Relationships

Ignacy
"You're falling behind, we need to go. What? There's fish in the river? I want to see too... let's take a break then."
Ignacy is Anesidora's best friend since they could begin to walk, neighbors even over the years. Even then, Anesidora sometimes doesn't do a lot of talking because she's just casual, but the two like to be around the other and enjoy their surroundings. There's moments where they could tease the other or laugh, but for the most part they kind of look like a transactional and focused duo because of their work most of the time.

Saros
"Saros, stay close to us. It doesn't look safe over there, you might slip. Ah, she fell."
Both pandoras meet occasionally, but Anesidora feels like she has to parent Saros whenever she's around. She is constantly running, jumping, even cartwheeling when there's objects around. As much Anesidora likes her as a friend, she doesn't personally invite Saros to her home in case she'll break something or hurt herself.

Sonnet
"...I didn't say anything. Let's just keep going. Hm? I really didn't so pay attention, will you?"
Sonnet is another Pandora that Anesidora occasionally meets, another that is her own type of hassle to be around. They both do their work well for the most part, but Sonnet is simply a short fuse who's insistent and stubborn when she thinks something is wrong. Anesidora actually does mutter under her breath from time to time, so...

Nacrea
"A-are you busy? There's a centipede in the garden...can you move it somewhere else?"
Anesidora appears more like a normal child when she's around young adults or teenagers, too professional and mature around other kids or older adults. Nacrea is like a big sister to her in that case, with Anesidora able to rely on her for things like advice and help with a bug that scares her. She tugs on ner sleeves a lot when she needs something.
