Backstory
Always drawn to things that were interesting, Michon strived to become an interesting person himself. He liked the idea of celebrities who would be thought of by people who'd never meet them, idolized, of being cherished even when he's not around. That go-getter personality was within him since he was a little boy, someone who didn't fear dipping his toes in everything he could get his hands on; studies, sports, hobbies. He could be remembered for one thing, sure, but as a kid he wanted to be remembered for everything he could do. A well rounded jack of all trades if possible.
Of course, his vanity soured his personality to some extent, apparent as a child when he'd ask for rematches until winning, when he'd fume over someone being better than him at something. Second place wasn't enough, trophies tossed and medals discarded, but he knew opportunities would keep coming and going. If losing once had any merit, defeating someone during their streaks of winning was gratifying. The idea of challenges propelled him, and was what made him so insistent on understanding Ferelith, his classmate. A stoic and cold person since childhood, she was just as good as he was at things, the same level, but if he wanted to surpass her he'd need to know what her motivation was. A terrible reason to try to befriend her at first, he peeled the layers of her personality to find there was no special trick, all he'd gotten out of it was a friend he'd begin to hold dearly.
Throughout middle school and high school, Michon continued to excel, primarily in Badminton alongside Ferelith. She wasn't going to do this for her whole life, intending to become a judge as an adult, not an area Michon was interested in. She did interest him in many ways, enough that both of them began to date just from how close they became over the years, a secret relationship though. With her strict family, it'd be a hassle to be open, but Michon's family was not as perfectionstic as their son had always been. With time the pair did move in together while they did their college studies nearby, and Michon took his childhood dog with him, a doberman he had since it was a puppy.
He could still aim for more in life, but settling as a professional badminton player, Ferelith becoming a judge, Michon is learning to be content with where's at. Slowing down was never easy for him, but it's exactly what he needs to do if he's going to enjoy the present rather than focusing on anything but that. The past can hold someone back, and so can rushing towards the future itself.
