Backstory
As average as can be, Marseille grew up in the same town around the same familiar faces most of her previous life. She was a casual and well-meaning person, honest and simply breezing by as someone that others didn't worry about, if anything being the one people confided in for their troubles. An only child, Marseille always wanted to grow close to those around her age in school, yet she always did enjoy her personal time just as much.
She wasn't per se a hobby hoarder or a risktaker, but did enjoy a life where she could lie low and didn't require too much maintenance. When she happened to be at her town's square one rainy day, she was one of the casualties of a sinkhole that had opened up. Marseille didn't happen to have any loved ones with her in that moment, reappearing in a red world without any recollection of her past life there on.
Now in a world that let humans coexist with supernatural beings, Marseille was still a simple, plain human among an accentric crowd. She appeared in Gandolchal, a rural town with vast forests and winding fields of golden grain, a place that suited her just fine. Taking up a job as a live in maid, Marseille found herself living with a human woman, Amanta, and her Mothman husband, Eliodore.
She continued a slightly repetitive life from there, listening to Amanta's woes about her husband's infatuation with his lamp shop, always a man who was fascinated with things that shined. Marseille had a lot of dust cleaning to do with all the antiques of his shop, enjoying the busy work regardless, but sometimes considered visiting other landscapes sometimes. When Aemilius and her team appeared to solve a missing person case, Amanta being taken away, hearing stories of Vellenice inspired her to visit every once in a while after the case was solved and Amanta was safe.
During her first trip to Vellenice, she was recommend by Emigdio to come during the holidays when Lady Capella hosted seasonal gatherings. It was there that Marseille met Nava at Salvio's inn, later spotting her at a ball. The two became friends through Marsielle's initiative, curious about her after all, but they were aware they wouldn't be around long. Marseille would have to return to Gandolchal, while Nava intended to leave Vellenice in the future, Alcarres being her hometown. Knowing that Nava was better with her words when written, Marseille suggested becoming penpals.
