Faris Ciríaco is known in Vellenice as Miss Agnese’s son, a prodigious violinist, and the older brother of a strange detective. Delving deeper, he is known to be unsociable and introverted, and frankly, a mama's boy. He can manipulate his shadow as a separate being that follows his orders, but it’s usually for chores when no one is looking.

He's known for his intellect and intuition. He has a strong mindset and often thinks before acting. He is also realistic and doesn't get swayed by others no matter how deceiving they seem. As a quiet observer, he doesn't put himself in many situations because he doesn't want to cause trouble for his mother, but that also means not helping others because his health comes first. It's getting tough keeping safe when his sister jumps headfirst into danger though.At times curt with others, his blunt words make him the opposite of his sweet mother. He will tell off men who get comfortable with her, or be blunt in negotiating anything. He acts older than his age, when he should be enjoying his youth more.

In his past life, Faris remained an only child, cared for by his mother, Agnese, while his father was in the Navy. He had fond memories of both, mostly at the side of his mother who had always shown him about compassion towards others.As he grew up, he recalls Agnese speaking to a man named Ammon and his niece Aemilius. From what his mother disclosed, Aemilius was orphaned a few years ago, survivng a murder that she no longer remembered. Left with her uncle in the large home of her parents, Ammon insisted it'd be good if Agnese and Faris moved in so the two children could grow up as siblings while Faris' father was away. Faris understood the adults' boundaries and that they were friends rather than anything romantic, but he wasn't so sure he had the ablity to be an older sibling. With time the two became close anyway, equally caring and respectful of the other. Sometimes Faris' father would visit and stay there as well, but he was often away for his work abroad. Even when a sinkhole swallowed up a majority of their familiar town, Faris was only with his mother in that moment. While he would've been glad his father hadn't undergone the same deaths, he had wished his mother wouldn't have had such a terrible fate.

When he appeared in Vellenice, a town with distinguishable red rain, he no longer remembered his previous life. Still, when he showed up with his mother, they still knew what the other meant to them. Settling in to their new surroundings, Faris felt a strong sense of duty to protect his mother. Early on, both figured out what they wanted to do. Faris was good at playing the violin from the start, as if he'd studied it before. His mother was a natural chef, who started up a bakery for daily earnings, but her biggest role was that of a culinary artist. From time to time she would get commissioned to create confectionary sculptures and edible artworks, at times from other towns. While Faris helped her out with the bakery, he didn't delve in her work as an artisan, nor did he ever eat the bread at home because both had gotten so sick of it. When he'd heard an uproar from their chickens, he'd found Aemilius when she appeared in their town. Unsure where to redirect her he consulted his mother, but she was insistant on having another child to raise. From then on their small family grew to 3, with all sorts of ups and downs with the trouble Emii would bring as a detective, but she was also a good influence on faris interacting with someone closer in age. Once he realized it, he became not only a protective sibling, but the one he had likewise would care for him too. From complaining about the same tricky regulars at the bakery, to staying up playing with shadow puppets, the two siblings were very much alike.

Looking back, Faris feels a lot was accomplished since he first appeared; his mother has created countless masterpieces, his sister had solved countless difficult cases, and he played his violin in countless shows. He'd always play when the town's leader, Lady Capella, hosted celebrations, but he'd mainly play with a small orchestra that'd perform in various venues around Vellenice. He was still secretive about it towards his family, feeling flustered if they praise his skills let alone spectate. Perhaps their comments meant the most to him, no matter how many powerful people have already said nice things, but he still yearned to get better and better. He still wants to become more incredible as an artist and person, perhaps to impress his mother more(not that she has expectations), but he's not very certain about the future itself. He didn't anticipate getting a sister, one so hard to keep up that she'll up fighting face to face with someone dangerous at any moment, sometimes having Faris caught up in the cases. Sometimes he's fearful, sometimes he can piece clues with the others, but he would certainly prefer if his sister lived a calmer life. While he doesn't say it, Emii knows his intentions to not worry anyone, but detective work is as natural to her as the violin is to Faris.
