Backstory
Alfajor grew up in Peru and Brazil in her early years, moving back and forth from both countries, not fully able to remember what memories go with which locations. Even so, she’s always had the comfort of her family surrounding her; the presence of her mother, father, and brother Efrain. She was always content throughout anything that came her way, from grinning through an injury or smiling through goodbyes to family each time she moved away. While her brother was a bit more of a worrier, her nonchalance and ability to keep calm always seemed to make him stress less, especially when it was time to move to Germany. She could speak Spanish, Portuguese, basic English, but…German? Certainly not. It was new, and nothing looked similar to the words she could already speak. She wasn’t worried though, once again optimistic, because her family was in the same boat and studying together meant 4x the learning she thought. With that, she surpassed another hurdle (although with an accent). That’s how she remembers her first summer in Germany, studying German and German culture. When she had to study in a German school, she was enrolled in a different school than her brother unfortunately. Attending a girls only school, she stood out a bit with many thinking she was from Spain perhaps, but they were even more intrigued with her when she said she was from South America. She was a kid whose bright hair ribbons caught the eyes of others, whose aromatic lunches interested many classmates, and her resilience was something that reminded others of the current student council president, Satie. For an otherwise nerdy looking girl in big glasses, and her German still wasn’t the best, she stood out to Satie, who encouraged her to join the student council.
Alfajor was tough enough to not doubt her abilities as a member of the student council, capable of being the succeeding president even, so she took the opportunity with pride. Having a foreign girl as a leader was a great influence on other foreign students, and her charisma was great enough to be respected by all students. She could work well with others, and somehow she was able to win over the heart of a slacker student in her class, Otthild. While Otthild didn’t even remember her face or name very well, she had ironically fallen for Alfajor at first sight when her appearance was a little different than usual. Alfajor was just eager to help her out then, until she learned she was Otthild’s crush after all, and it was her first time being confessed to. Growing up, she was so absorbed in the supernatural, and her brother’s formerly messy habits dissuaded her from liking boys, but there was no negative opinion on women. When Alfajor peeked at their mother’s telenovelas every once in a while, Alfajor was infatuated with a couple actresses to tell the truth. However, it wasn’t exactly a thought of “I want to be her”, but it was more like “I want to be with her!” The actresses played very dainty roles though, the complete opposite of what Otthild was like, but her flustered confession towards Alfajor was cute enough to be considered her type.
Of course, with the type of parents she had, traditionally outdated in views, she couldn’t just admit her relationship with Otthild. Her girlfriend’s mother didn’t care because Alfajor was presentable and a good influence, but Otthild was…blunt and minimally feminine. So for now she’s seen as a good friend of Alfajor’s, her Vice President in the student council, but her brother Efrain knew what they really meant to the other. When she befriended the new girl Juneau, Alfajor figured it’d make her close knit relationship with Otthild less suspicious if a third person is around, but she ended up having to hide Juneau and Efrain’s relationship from her family in addition to her relationship with Otthild.
